Toyota Introduces The Camry Effect

The Toyota Camry has been around for 30 years, resulting in nearly seven-million Camry drivers throughout the country. That means that there are countless Camry stories to tell - maybe it was your very first car and you've driven a Camry ever since. Maybe you took it on your first date, maybe your first Camry is now your teenager's first car ever. Here at Magnussen's Toyota of Palo Alto, we hear stories like that all the time, and now, Toyota is asking Camry owners to share their stories  with each other.

This effort is taking the form of a social, interactive website called The Camry Effect. It will be a place where Camry drivers, current or past, can share their stories, memories and milestones. It will also be a place to witness the collective impact of the Toyota Camry throughout its 30 years on the road here in the United States.

It's certainly a part of the fabric of automotive history in America. And sure, we all know how the body styles and specs have changed throughout the years, but how about the Camry's collective history? Where do people get their cars? How long do they keep them? Why do they keep them? Do they change their own oil, or do they prefer to take their car to the shop? How many Camrys on the road have custom paint jobs? Those are just some of the questions Toyota is asking.

In other words, it's not just about body style and engine power. Toyota wants to know how they've impacted the lives of Americans in an effort to show how they plan to continue to do exactly that. With the arrival of the seventh-generation Camry, this effect is only going to grow, and we can't wait to watch it on Toyota's website.

Maybe you have a story to share? Stop by http://www.toyota.com/camryeffect to add to the timeline. Don't have a Camry story to share? You should still check out the site, it's a pretty neat collection of stories - and who knows, it might just inspire you to join in the effect with a 2012 Toyota Camry. Either way, feel free to pay us a visit at Magnussen's Toyota of Palo Alto, 690 San Antonio Rd Palo Alto, CA 94306 to learn more about why the Camry is such a well-loved car.
