Veterans Day has been an official holiday in the United States since 1918. Before that it was known as Armistice Day. Veterans Day is always Nov. 11 and it is a way to show our thanks for those who have serviced and continue to serve. There are many ways to show our gratitude, but one of the most common ways for businesses to show their thanks is by offering Veterans Day discounts. Before we get into the list of discounts, we’d like to note that many of these discounts are available with proof of service. This could be a Military ID Card, VA ID Card or drivers license with Veterans Designation , so make sure you check with a location before showing up. Additional, if your favorite restaurant or destination isn’t on this list, it never hurts to ask if they have a military discount available.
- Applebee’s – Participating Applebee’s restaurants offer a few meal to veterans on Veterans Day from select meal options.
- IHOP – On Veterans Day IHOP offers a free stack of Red, White and Blue pancakes to veterans and active military men and women.
- Chili’s – Chili’s offers a free meal to veterans or active duty members of the military.
- Red Robin – Red Robin has a Free Red Tavern’s Double Burger and Bottomless Fries.
- Olive Garden – Olive Garden will be giving a free meal from select Veterans Day menu.
- Outback Steakhouse – Outback Steakhouse will offer a Free Bloomin’ Onion and non-alcoholic beverage and 15% off the total check from Nov. 12 to Dec. 31, 2016.
- Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que – Famous Dave’s has a free meal that includes a Two Meat BBQ Salute
