For years Best Buy has used the Volkswagen Beetle as the official Geek Squad vehicle, but the company recently announced that the Geekmobile would be undergoing a big change. The Geek Squad started out being dedicated solely to fixing computers, but as technology changed their skills and services have changed and they wanted a vehicle that reflected that. Why did Best Buy replace the Geekmobile?
Best Buy changed its Geek Squad car to the Toyota Prius c. This is the smaller version of the Prius. The Prius c Geekmobile will also have an updated logo that reflects the new vision for the Geek Squad. The logo has been modernized and is easier to read. The Geek Squad is always changing and expanding their services to adapt to new technologies and features and they wanted a vehicle that would help demonstrate that.
The Prius c was selected for a variety of reasons, including the fact that it’s innovative and has environmental advantages. The Prius was the first mass-produced hybrid car and it keeps getting better with age. This greener Geekmobile will even reduce the Geek Squad’s emissions by 50 percent. The Geek Squad will dispatch over 1,000 of these new vehicles nationwide and it is only a matter of time before you see them driving around to help customers optimizing home theater systems, improving Wi-Fi performance and more!
