Does Toyota have Apple CarPlay?

Most automotive brands now have some kind of infotainment system that helps drivers use their mobile devices to access certain features in their vehicle. This can include hands-free calling, mobile apps, music features, navigation and more. These systems have made driving even more enjoyable. The only real issue is that there are so many different systems available that it can be difficult to keep track of what brands are compatible with each device. Today we’re going to help by answering the question, “Does Toyota have Apple CarPlay?

Why doesn’t Toyota have Apply CarPlay?

Toyota vehicles do not have the option of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Instead Toyota vehicles have the Entune Audio Plus system that works with Telenav, which developed the Scout GPS Link system. The great thing about this unique system is that it works with both iOS and Android devices, which eliminates the need for either Apple’s or Google’s in-car interface. This is ultimately a helpful way to give all drivers the opportunity to use the Toyota interface system because most devices will be compatible. No one wants to choose a new vehicle based on their mobile device or vice versa. This new system is already available on many 2016 Toyota models including the all-new Tacoma.

I understand the potential limitations, but it’s obvious that Toyota doesn’t understand Apple. Apple & all of their devices are, in general, a step up. Use one for 6 months and tell me that’s not a valid point. Still waiting to buy a new Prius! 🙁

When I purchased my used 2016 Camry in April of 2019, I had apple play. It appeared as I left the lot. I changed my car battery and I now can’t get Apple play to appear. My phone Bluetooth works fine so map voice and all the phone functions seem to work. Help!
