Fun events for the Fourth of July near Palo Alto CA
This time of the year is of great importance for all of us as Americans – 243 years ago, our Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence, paving the way for an official split from the British Empire. In that time, we’ve seen our United States grow into a global powerhouse, but at home, the same values of pride and patriotism remain. It’s because of this that Independence Day is such a great time for all, as it gives us a chance to celebrate the freedoms that we enjoy on a daily basis. So, in a few short weeks, grab your friends and family and check out these fun events for the Fourth of July near Palo Alto CA!
Mitchell Park, in our hometown of Palo Alto, will play host to its annual summer festival on the 4th of July, as it has since its first celebration in 1981. Besides a chili cook-off and tasting, there will be plenty of food trucks and booths, bounce houses, lawn games, and even some chances to craft. Head over at noon for a day filled with great times!
In nearby Foster City lies Leo Ryan Park, where you and the family will get to check out one of the coolest Independence Day celebrations out there. Starting at 9 am will be a family and dog (!) parade, with games, artist booths and some rides for the kids. Be sure to stick around in the evening, because there will even be a firework show to wrap up the festivities!
There’s no more fitting picture of America than a small-town parade, which is what you can experience in Menlo Park. Starting at 11:45, this parade will wrap through the town and finish up with a celebration in Burgess Park, located in the city. There, live music, carnival games, face painting, putt putt golf, food and much more will all be yours to enjoy. It’s also free, so be sure to check it out!
